North & South Carolina has fantistic
views and great southern hospitality. Even large cities such as
Charlotte and
Charleston has
something for everyone. Charlotte is a very modern city with a large
airport. Charleston is a lovely city with with a great downtown
area. Just north of Charlotte is Ashville,
located high on the mountains, it is perfect for hicking and walking.
Close to Ashville is the Appalachian mountains, known for its ski
resorts like Blowing
Rock, Boone
and Banner
Elk
Given
its architecture and history, there is certainly much to see in Wilmington.
There are several tour operators, walking excursions and trolly rides
to occupy the body and the mind, both in the city and along the beaches.
Also, beyond the world-famous historic features, both shore and boat
fishing, for instance, can be done throughout the year.
Festivals
Wilmington, NC is reknowned for its family outings. There are many
events, parades, festivals and celebrations year round. April sports
the NC Azalea Festival, in October you can enjoy the Riverfest and
my favorite, in November the Wrightsville Beach Holiday Flotilla.
No
trip to Wilmington would be complete without a visit to the beaches.
Well, there are quite a lot to choose from. The very well maintained
beaches and parks feature both natural and historical attractions.
Overnight camping and picnic spaces can be booked in advance.
